A FEW SAFETY TOPICS FOR PARENTS & PLAYERS TO UNDESTAND . . .

The WEATHER!

In Florida, we are blessed with great weather year-round, but in those few months where our humidity and heat levels rise, there are 2 major concerns: heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat illness is preventable, and the warning signs are important NOT to miss.

SIGNS of HEAT Exhaustion

  • Faint or dizzy
  • Excessive sweating
  • Rapid, weak pulse
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Cool, pale, clammy skin
  • Muscle cramps

Signs of Heat Stroke

  • No sweating
  • Red, hot, dry skin
  • Body temperature above 103 degrees
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Rapid, strong pulse
  • May lose consciousness
